Amid eligibility issues, Grace Poe posts throwback photo with FPJ, Susan Roces

Amid the controversy raised by the opposition on her citizenship, residency and her status as a foundling, Sen. Grace Poe posted on Facebook an old photo with his adoptive parents movie stars Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr. for #ThrowbackThursday.

In the photo, a young Grace Poe was sitting on the FPJ's lap, her head rested on her father's chest as her mother happily looked on.

The senator grew up as the only daughter of the King and Queen of Philippine movies. Right from the start, Poe knew she was a foundling.

In an interview with Jessica Soho last year, Poe said that Roces told her that a woman named Sayong found her in a church in Jaro, Iloilo. She was told she was even covered in blood.

She was rushed to the hospital before she was eventually baptized by Jaime Cardinal Sin who was serving in the province.

Later, the bishop convinced the woman who found her to give her to the Poes for formal adoption.

The photo was posted amid citizenship questions anchored on the fact that she is a foundling.

"Ibig bang sabihin nila na ang isang bata na pinulot ay hindi na pwedeng mangarap na manilbihan sa isang mataas na posisyun at walang karapatan ng parehong oportunidad sa iba?" she told reporters on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lovi Poe--daughter of FPJ with actress Rowena Moran--expressed her full support for the senator.

"At the end of the day she's my sister. At the end of the day she's a Poe. I will totally support my sister," Lovie said. —NB/JST, GMA News
