100 devotees now allowed to hear Mass inside Quiapo Church

From 10, officials are now allowing 100 devotees to hear Mass inside Quiapo Church amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Darlene Cay's report on Unang Balita on Friday.

Like before, those who could not be accommodated inside the church were allowed to hear the Mass from Plaza Miranda where social distancing was strictly observed.

Some devotees were at the vicinity of the church as early as 4 a.m. for the Friday Mass.

The government's COVID-19 task force has allowed religious gatherings involving 10 people or up to 10% of the venue capacity in areas under general community quarantine. The new policy took effect July 10.

"Pasalamat kami sa Poong Nazareno kasi makakapasok kami," said Anita Lumindas, a devotee.

The report said disinfection is conducted inside the church after every Mass.

Before the start of the succeeding Mass, 50 devotees are allowed to enter the church to pray for 15 minutes, it added. —KBK, GMA News
