Marcos urges US firms engaged in energy, aerospace to invest in the Philippines
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., in the United States for a working visit, had met with officials from American private firms involved in energy and aerospace, Malacañang said Tuesday.
According to Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, Marcos encouraged these companies to invest in the Philippines, which is part of the measures of the Philippine government for the country to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marcos, on September 19, met with the top managers of NuScale Power, an American energy company founded in 2007 that aims to provide scalable advanced nuclear technology for the production of electricity, heat, and clean water.
The President also met with executives from WasteFuel, a firm THAT produces renewable fuels through proven technologies such as converting municipal and agricultural waste into low-carbon fuels, renewable natural gas and green methanol.
Aside from those firms, Marcos also met with officials from Boeing, a leading global aerospace company and a premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
