Nueva Ecija rice millers to help NFA tide over the supply situation
The Nueva Ecija Rice Millers Association will start supplying Metro Manila markets on Monday to help the National Food Authority (NFA) provide the public the public with affordable rice.
Association president Mel Coronel said the group’s members will suffer some losses with this move because the rice will be sold at P39 per kilo, or lower than its actual market price of P42.
Coronel noted they are prepared to make this sacrifice to help the public as part of their commitment to President Duterte.
The group said 100,000 bags of rice will come from Nueva Ecija, another 100,000 bags from Bulacan, and still another 100,000 bags from Isabela.
The association will continue supplying the market until the rice to be imported by the government arrives. —VDS, GMA News
