AGI and Genting Group to develop casino resort in Entertainment City
The Alliance Global Group Inc. is eyeing to open an integrated casino resort in the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.'s (PAGCOR) Entertainment City in Parañaque City.
"We are redesigning our plan in the Entertainment City, and we're about to finish on that. So by next year we expect to resume construction, and by 2021 we should be able to open the first phase," AGI president Kingson Sian said during the company's annual stockholders' meeting in Quezon City.
AGI is developing a 35-hectare leisure and entertainment township called Westside City in partnership with the Genting Group of Malaysia.
Entertainment City is part of a government-owned reclamation development along the shores of Manila Bay.
Westside City will house the second Resorts World. AGI's Travellers International is the owner and operator of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
"'Yung PAGCOR City malapit na 'yung plan matapos, siguro 90 percent na," Sian told reporters in a briefing after the stockholders' meeting.
"Half of the property has been piled up already and we are working on the other half," he added.
In 2015, AGI said it was earmarking P65 billion for the Entertainment City project. — VDS, GMA News
