1.5M BPI clients affected by processing error

Some 1.5 million clients of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) were affected by the error in its processing earlier this month, the Ayala-led lender said Wednesday.

In a Senate hearing, BPI President and CEO Cezar P. Consing said some 1.5 million clients out of their total 8 million clients were affected by the error in its processing.

"Much, much smaller than some of the figures circulating prominently in social media," he said.

He was referring to accounts affected by the internal error in its system which caused transactions from April 27 to May 2 to be double-posted as of June 6. — MDM, GMA News
