MPIC considering unsolicited proposals for rails, airport projects
The Manny Pangilinan-led conglomerate Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) is considering to make unsolicited proposals for rails and airports infrastructure projects to the government.
MPIC President Jose Ma. Lim told reporters in a press briefing in Makati City on Wednesday that the company will pursue rails and airports should they decide to submit the project proposals.
"We will continue to pursue rails and airports," Lim said.
However, he added that the company hasn't drafted any proposals as "it is still being discussed."
Lim also said that for the possible public-private-partnership on airports, MPIC has identified potential partners but "we will not disclose that until we firmed up out transaction."
"We haven't heard any news from the government on this, it looks like they're not in a hurry," he said. —John Ted Cordero/KBK, GMA News
