#ChickenSad? Pinoys crave for unavailable menu items as Jollibee undergoes 'system upgrade'

(Updated 4:18 p.m.) Netizens are up-in-arms on social networking sites as fast food chain Jollibee couldn't seem to fill up their orders of Chickenjoy, and a company official said they are undergoing a systems upgrade.

Some tweets dated since last week ranged from questions over the unavailability of some menu items to some branches being closed.

In an e-mail message to GMA News Online, Harvey Ong, Jollibee vice president for Marketing, said some of their branches in Metro Manila and "surrounding cities" are operating on a limited menu," in line with an "ongoing major systems upgrade" for their delivery service.

Among the branches identified by netizens are those in Divisoria, Recto, and Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

In other branches, notices have been posted regarding the limited menu.

The fast food chain also received numerous online complaints regarding its delivery system, its Twitter account showed.

In response to complaints and questions customers raised on Twitter, Jollibee said some of its branches "are operating with a limited menu" because they are "currently upgrading" their system.

It also assured customers that the company is working on making the products "available again within a few days."

Ong said the company is sorry "for this inconvenience," and assured its customers that Jollibee is working on "having all our products available again in all our affected stores soonest." – VS, GMA News
