SONA FASHION 2018: Trendsetters in the morning opening session

Politicians and their guests arrived at the Senate hall on Monday morning dressed in simple but fashionable garbs for the opening session of the 17th Congress, a few hours ahead of President Rodrigo Duterte's third State of the Nation address.

Senator Nancy Binay, whose SONA look has always been one of the most-awaited, was clad in a baby blue Filipiniana gown made by Randy Ortiz.

The fashion-forward wife of Senator Chiz Escudero, Heart Evangelista meanwhile wore a classic Mark Bumgarner white Filipiniana and matched it with a nude peep toe heels. 

Jinkee Pacquiao who is always up-to-the-minute when it comes to fashion, looked modish dressed in a Filipiniana pantsuit. She wore her hair neatly tied in a low ponytail.
