Miss World Philippines 2017 beauties sashayed on the Zalora Fashion Show runway
The 35 Miss World Philippines 2017 beauties sashayed down the runway at the Zalora Fashion Show on Monday night at the Uptown Bonifacio Mall in Bonifacio Global City.
All ladies were dressed in stylish white, black and navy blue ensembles from the online retail brand Zalora.
Among the judges of the fashion show were Zalora head of production Zhina Berry, publicist, fashion editor and stylist Charmaine Palermo, Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 4 who represented Mongolia Tugs Saruul and Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann.
Supporters, families and friends of the candidates gathered to cheer for their bets, holding up banners and number balloons.
Actress-politician Alma Morena, mother of Kapuso actress and candidate no. 9 Winwyn Marquez attended the fashion show to support her daughter.
Wyn's boyfriend Kapuso actor Mark Herras was also present at the event.
The hopefuls said they were all overwhelmed with the support they got at the fashion show and they enjoyed strutting down the ramp in fashionable pieces.
Wyn said, "Kahit naman siya fashion show, you still have to enjoy it, kasi nga babagayan mo lang kung ano 'yung suot mo, kasi 'yung suot ko nga may ruffles and you feel na masaya lang, like they wanna wear what I wear , so I'm happy with my performance, everyone did very well. I hope you enjoyed it."
With the nearing pageant and gala night, Marquez also said she is "ready" to compete and perform.
"I'm so nervous and excited at the same time, siyempre hindi mawawala 'yung kaba pero ready na ako e, ready na ako magpakita and magperform, sana magustuhan nila yung performance," Marquez said.
Candidate no. 32 Cynthia Thomalla said she was overjoyed to see and hear screams and cheers from their supporters.
"I was so happy today, I'm really really happy to see the people screaming our names and cheering for us, it's an overwhelming feeling," Thomalla said.
Although it is candidate no. 15 Laura Lehmann's second pageant, she said she still feels nervous from time to time.
Three years ago, Lehmann was awarded as Binibining Pilipinas 2014 first runner-up.
"Second pageant ko na 'to, siyempre may kaba, I'm nervous, I want to win a crown this time, it's already my second time and hopefully my last, so of course I'm still nervous, again I think what's important is just to have fun," she said.
Apart from the Miss World Philippines title, three other crowns are up for grabs including, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2017, Miss Multinational 2017 and Miss Eco Philippines 2017.
The Miss World 2017 pageant will be held on September 3 at the Mall of Asia Arena and will telecast on GMA-7 on the same night. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
