‘Heneral Luna’ will be streaming on Netflix

You’re not dreaming it: critically-acclaimed, indie mega hit “Heneral Luna” will be streaming on Netflix.

TBA studios, the film company behind the movie, made the announcement on social media Tuesday afternoon to much excitement.

On Facebook, the announcement has generated over 1,000 shares, more than 200 comments, and a ton load of engagement.

Directed by Jerrold Tayog, Heneral Luna swept Philippine Cinema when it was released in September 2015. It became our official bet to the Academy Awards in 2016, and was called by Variety magazine as a "rousing historical epic set during the Philippine-American War."

It is the first movie of a trilogy, with its sequel, "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral" released three years later, in September 2018. — LA, GMA News
