Lauren Young conquers fear of reading body-shaming comments
Being under public scrutiny isn't easy and even if you're just eager to connect with fellow fashionistas by posting your OOTD, there's always the possibility of seeing an unkind comment.
"Contessa" star Lauren Young opened up about having to deal with exactly that and shared in a post on Instagram Wednesday, "I used to be so shy to post my OOTD’s because of the fear of reading comments pointing to my body size."
"But today I’m confident and happy with my curves," she said and added, "Proud to be a balakang babe."
Lauren has been open about her weight problems, but she emphasizes the health concerns over looks.
"I've realized as I've gotten a year older that above everything else I have to take care of my health and the looks will follow. Be proud of your accomplishments, even the little ones. But most importantly love and accept yourself — flaws included," she told her followers on Instagram.

Lauren's sister Megan previously talked about dealing with body image issues, too. She coined the term "balakang babe" as a way to embrace her hips, which she was conscious about before.
