Kris Bernal shares muscle-building routine for petite girls who want to bulk up
Petite girls can relate to the struggle that Kapuso actress Kris Bernal is going through: How do you help people see past your small frame and take you more seriously?
Bernal, who recently flaunted her toned figure on the cover of FHM Philippines, is shedding her sweet image by bulking up and building muscles. The star has been hitting the gym and trying to literally reshape herself to fit more mature roles.
"I've been in the industry for 10 years and I've been stuck in this role na I'm very sweet and very kawawa... Tumatanda na rin si Kris, baka pwede siyang gumawa ng role na medyo sexy na or medyo matured na," Bernal said in an interview with Unang Balita Wednesday.
She added, "Gusto ko lang mag-explore."
Bernal stands at 5'1" and weighs 105 lbs., which according to her nutritionist is appropriate. However, to gain a more impressive stature, the petite actress has been doing bodybuilding exercises.
"Sa mga petite at sa mga maliliit 'yung bodyframe, I recommend na kung gusto niyo talaga magmukhang 'bulk' and mas lumaki, mag-more on lifting weights talaga kayo," she explained.
Bernal demonstrated her usual routine in the report, which includes a lot of lifting to develop the arms, shoulders, back, hips, and butt.
Bernal will be taking on a dual role in the upcoming GMA Afternoon Prime series "Impostora."
She will be joined in the show by Rafael Rosell, Ryan Eigenmann, Assunta De Rossi, Elizabeth Oropesa, Aicelle Santos, Sinon Loresca, and Vaness del Moral. —Aya Tantiangco/KG, GMA News
