An eat-all-you-can food hall? We’re here for that

Who doesn’t love a good food court — or food hall, as restaurateurs like to call them these days?

Power Plant Mall’s The Grid boasts of fantastic food concepts gathering together in the Makati mall’s new wing, while The Podium’s Corner Market boasts of fresh produce.

Islas Pinas meanwhile is purely Filipino, which is always a good thing in our book.

In Quezon City’s U.P. Town Center meanwhile stands The Alley and it has a concept that will get everybody wide-eyed and salivating: it’s the country’s first eat-all-you-can food hall.

From the makers of Vikings — our beloved buffet restaurant — The Alley consists of over 15 food stalls serving street food from the world over.

Chinese? Check. Italian? Check. Japanese? Check. Vietnamese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Filipino — check, check, check, check. There is also a stall for cheeses, a drinks station, and a section all to itself: dessert.

A word on desserts: it’s a mélange of sweet treats from all the world as well. From the usual sweet fare found in hotels, The Alley’s dessert section features them famous Spanish churros, our very own dirty ice cream, puto bumbong and bibingka, too!

But we love two things about The Alley the most. First, that The Alley features small servings of its ala carte dishes, allowing more real estate in the tummy to get a taste of everything.

And second, Pop Talk pointed the Italian stall in particular has serving off-the-menu dishes. How’s that for even more options?

The Alley’s table configuration will tell you big groups are its main agenda, and with price points kind to the pocket, it’s so tempting to gather the barkada and the barangay for an intense food trip. — LA, GMA News
