In a QC hotel, guests can enjoy a banquet right inside the kitchen
Open kitchens are always a great attraction at restaurants. There's no better appetizer than watching your food being prepared, and being surrounded by the aroma — whether it's vegetables being sautéed, meat being grilled, or cakes being baked — makes the experience even more luxurious than it already is.
Seda at Vertis North takes the open kitchen experience a step further with the Chef's Table, a service that allows guests to hold a banquet right in the middle of the kitchen.
Seda can arrange a table for 12 starting at P2,000 per person. The space fits a group of 14 easily, but they'll make room for a crowd of 18 if you're finding it hard to trim the list.
They'll accommodate requests for themes and preferred cuisines. The number of courses will also depend on the budget. Make sure to let them know of any dietary restrictions!
I sampled a countryside-themed six-course dinner during the launch of the service Saturday evening and I was impressed immediately.
The Tuna Tartare was a sumptuous bite (as was every other dish), but it's the dip they served with the bread that had me taking notes. Not to dis the almighty butter, but the mixture of feta cheese with garlic, lemon, and olive oil made me feel special. It's the attention to smaller details that makes good restaurants great.
And another thing: When planning your menu for this experience, make sure that you get to the dessert alive and alert i.e. not in the middle of a food coma.
I prefer straightforward desserts or what other people would call basic (even boring), because there's little else you need to do to good chocolate or vanilla to make it perfect. The pastry chef seems to agree with me as the Chocolate a la Bomba she served was divine in its simplicity...the little show with the hot syrup is just a bonus. Flavor matters more.

If you find multiple cutlery on the table intimidating, fear not. The setting follows the golden rule: start with the outermost flatware and you'll be fine. Feel free to ask the servers questions, as I found that the staff at the hotel are exceptionally friendly.
Halfway through the dinner, the press was surprised with a short performance by two chefs. We were told that guests can expect to be serenaded should they book a table at the kitchen, too.
Dinner and a m...usical! Charmed by this duet during our Chef's Table experience!

Seda at Vertis North has been operational since April, but will officially open in October.
It houses the biggest buffet among the Seda properties and boasts of a Sisig Station. Another highlight is the Straight Up Bar, which offers a view of the city from the 23rd floor of the hotel. Enjoy the al fresco area on clear evenings!
