Laura Lehmann bags Q&A win ahead of coronation night, advances to Top 40

The Philippines' bet Laura Lehmann made it to the Top 5 of Miss World 2017's "Beauty With a Purpose" segment and ahead of the coronation night Saturday, she won another challenge that guarantees her spot in the Top 40.

Laura was in Group 17 for the Head-to-Head challenge with Myanmar, Serbia, Lesotho, Thailand, and Turkey.

The women were tasked to answer the same question: "Cyberbullying is one of the greatest problems facing young people today. How would you help solve this?"

As a beauty queen, Laura said that she has encountered her fair share of bashing online and she believes that the attention she receives can be turned into a weapon against cyberbullying.

Beauty queens like her, she said, must use their influence and presence to highlight and condemn abusive behavior.

Her answer in full: 

You know, I really like this question because I think it's a topic that all of us can relate to because as a beauty queen we do get bashed online, there's a lot of negative comments especially when the competition gets tough. So I think it's a question that we understand but we also know that it's something that's very hard to avoid, because sometimes we can't really control what other people say or what other people think.

But I think the best we can do is use our platform and use our voices because the whole world is watching us so whenever we see someone being bullied online I think that we can't be passive bystanders, we have to do something about it, we have to point it out, and we have remind them that trolls and bashers aren't allowed on our Facebook pages and it's our job to just post things that are positive rather than negative or something that condemns other people.

India, Indonesia, Moldova, Guatemala, Liberia, Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Kazakhstan also advance to the Top 40. 

There are 118 women competing for the Miss World crown.

The Miss World 2017 coronation event will be held in Sanya, China on November 18. — AT, GMA News
