Rachel Peters thanks look-alike Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler for ‘motivation’
Filipina-Australian Rachel Peters made her way to the top last night by taking home the coveted Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2017 crown.
Aside from her confidence, quick wit, and mile-long legs, she has also been getting attention due her resemblance to other well-known ladies, such as Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff and Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler.
According to the Camarines Sur beauty, these compliments served as motivation for her during the competition.
“They're all compliments! [Gabriela Isler] was a Miss Universe, and that's what I was aiming for since Day 1. It motivated me... I actually watched a lot of her videos! Thank you, Gabriela Isler, for the motivation,” she said in a post-pageant interview.
Peters also expressed gratitude to her family and friends, as well as all of her supporters, for the love and support that has helped her throughout her Binibining Pilipinas journey.
"Thank you so much for all your love and support. Everything that I am now is because of you," she said.
The beauty queen said that she is more than ready to start training for the upcoming Miss Universe 2017 competition and represent the Philippines proudly in the international pageant scene.
Peters, 25, is an event organizer who has worked with international artists such as Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera. She was previously crowned 4th Princess in the Miss World Philippines pageant in 2014.
