Director Jerrold Tarog on Wednesday shared the positive results of his meeting with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board via a celebratory tweet.
"BLISS has been reclassified R-18. See you in cinemas on May 10. Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino!" Tarog wrote.
"Bliss" was previously slapped with an X by the censorship board, reportedly for "explicit nudity scenes." Upon further review, the MTRCB ruled that "the realistic depiction of aberrant sexual activity, sexually-oriented dialogue, profanity and gore" can be seen by adults.
The film premiered at the Osaka Film Festival 2017. It details the misfortune that befalls Jane Ciego (Iza Calzado), an aging actress who decides to produce her own movie.
Calzado won the Yakushi Pearl Award for her performance in the movie. —ALG, GMA News
