‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ trailer released

20th Century Fox has just released the official trailer for “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” and it’s got fancy transforming cars, cowboys, scary dudes with robot arms, and explosions. What more could you ask for?

While the trailer introduces its main characters and gives us an idea of what to expect in terms of action and special effects, it doesn’t give too much away where the story is concerned. Of course, that’s where the movie’s official synopsis comes in:

“‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ introduced the world to Kingsman—an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents' strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that's becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy...”

Reprising their roles are Taron Egerton as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, Mark Strong as Merlin, and apparently Colin Firth as Harry Hart/Galahad. Newcomers include Julianne Moore as criminal mastermind Poppy; Halle Berry as Statesman tech support Ginger; Channing Tatum as Statesman agent Tequila; Jeff Bridges as Statesman head Champagne/Champ; and Elton John.

“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is directed by Matthew Vaughn, who also directed the highly successful first film “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” Jane Goldman and Vaughn also returned to write the sequel.

“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” and its predecessor are based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel series “The Secret Service.”
