Writer Luis Katigbak lives on with launch of final book 'Dear Distance'
The news of Luis Katigbak's passing on April 20 left many writers working to distill into words the influence he had on their careers and lives.
On May 7, the tribute continues at Blanc Gallery with the official launch of his last book, "Dear Distance."
"Dear Distance" is Katigbak's compilation of 20 short stories, a follow-up to "Happy Endings" from 2000. It was first released in March.
The gathering is also a fundraiser for the medical bills incurred while Katigbak was at the hospital. More than that, the organizers hope that the event will provide a venue for friends and fans to celebrate Katigbak's literary legacy.
Those attending are encouraged to read his work, as well as their own tributes.
Blanc gallery is at 145 Katipunan Avenue, St. Ignatius Village, Quezon City. The "Dear Distance" official launch will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. —Aya Tantiangco/JST, GMA News
