The new AlDub commercial 'Tayong Dalawa' reunites Maine and Alden

A new commercial featuring Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza or AlDub that was teased on Wednesday was finally released on Thursday morning.

The 30-second video delighted their fans, it quickly turned viral as soon as it was published online.

The new commercial features Alden inviting Maine for a late-night snack, after a long day of working on separate projects.

And as they ate their fried chicken and fries, Alden and Maine never missed a beat with their sweet-as-can-be interactions.

A cover of the Eraserheads song "Minsan" playing in the background lends a sweet nostalgia to the 30-second ad.

The ad seems to be following the real-life narrative of the pair. Alden and Maine have been busy with separate projects: Alden with his new series "Victor Magtanggol" and Maine with a movie for the Metro Manila Film Festival.

But the two remain supportive of each other. Maine showed her support for the pilot episode of Alden's new series by posting on social media, while Alden hinted at more AlDub projects in the future.

AlDub or MaiChard celebrated its third anniversary earlier in July, an event Alden and Maine celebrated on their respective social media accounts.

At the peak of the AlDub/MaiChard frenzy, the pair became the subject of international press, scoring big commercials and endorsements.

In 2016 alone, the two had a throwback to the moment they first saw each other, drank coffee, and ate ice cream, among many others.

Alden and Maine also starred in their first movie, "Imagine You & Me," and telenovela, "Destined To Be Yours," the following year.

This isn't the first time AlDub starred in a McDonalds commercial. In 2015, they were first featured having a late-night rainy-day date with Rey Valera's "Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko" playing in the background.

According to insiders, a longer version of the "Tayong Dalawa" commercial will be released later today. — Rie Takumi/LA, GMA News
