He found Aling Vicky in real life
On Facebook Wednesday, Palanca award-winning author Eric Cabahug — who is also Viva Films’ creative manager for films, marketing manager for artists and editorial director for books — posted a photo with current viral sensation not-Aling Vicky.
Back the truck up: For some reason, a clip of 2001’s movie “Baliktaran: Si Ace at Si Daisy” went viral this week.
In the clip, a boy shouts out to a group of women playing majong, calling the attention of Aling Vicky because her child fell in the sewer. In a panic, Aling Vicky leaves the group. And just as quickly returns.
When her friends ask her why, she says she forgot something. When they prodded what, Aling Vicky responds: “Hindi nga pala ako si Aling Vicky.”
Cue collective laughter.
GMA News Online got in touch with Eric, who told us non-Aling Vicky is actually Hermie Go in real life — or as the Viva office calls her Tita Hermie.
According to Eric, Aling Vicky or Tita Hermie is a long-time in-house associate producer. “Malapit lang ang office ko sa puwesto niya, and she always passes my cube when she comes in. Madalas kaming magkasalubong,” Eric tells GMA News Online on Facebook Messenger.
Apparently, “Baliktaran”, which stars Bayani Agbayani and Rufa Mae Quinto, was her first movie project in Viva. “It was director Al Tantay who asked her to do that role because they were lacking in extras at that time,” continues Eric.
Tita Hermie has since cameoed in many other Viva movies, including “Luck at First Sight”. She is the star of the video series "Payo ni Lola" for the film “Camp Sawi”.
When asked what Tita Hermie’s reaction was to his photo request, Eric said it was nothing for her. “Marami na ata nagpapapicture with her. Kinuwento niya pati si Xian Lim nagpa-pic din sa kanya the other day.”
