Shock grips '90s kids upon learning that Natalie Imbruglia's ‘Torn’ is a cover
The perfect sky was torn Friday for '90s kids everywhere when a tweet by @VilinskiKonjic went viral, informing them that Natalie Imbruglia's hit song "Torn" is actually a cover.

NME reports that Imbruglia's debut single is actually a cover of a 1995 song by the band Ednaswap."
Although written by Ednawap members Scott Cutler and Anne Preven with Phil Thornalley, it was first recorded in 1993 by Danish singer Lis Sørensen under the title "Brændt."
For reference, Imbruglia's version was released in 1997.
