Pinoys send messages of sympathy to crying Marc Pingris after Gilas defeat

The Philippines is officially out of the playoffs for the FIBA Basketball World Cup after Gilas Pilipinas lost a heartbreaker to Puerto Rico, 77-73, on Wednesday night.

Fans and supporters lamented the loss, but for some people, seeing the look on Marc Pingris' face in the dying seconds was what hurt the most.

As Puerto Rico took the final free throws to ice the game, television cameras caught Pingris on the bench with a towel covering half of his face, his eyes in tears.

The fans turned to Twitter to express their sadness and show their support to Pingris and the rest of the Gilas, which fought gallantly despite the loss.
