GMA News and Public Affairs’ UNDAS 2013
Leading broadcast news organization GMA News and Public Affairs joins the country in observing this year’s All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day via UNDAS 2013.
Airing on GMA-7’s 24 Oras, Unang Hirit, Flash Report, and Saksi, and on GMA News TV’s News to Go, Balitanghali, NewsTV Live, Balita Pilipinas Ngayon, News TV QRT, and State Of The Nation with Jessica Soho, UNDAS 2013 delivers up-to-the-minute reports on traffic; the latest situation in major cemeteries, bus terminals, seaports and airports; as well as practical safety and consumer information tips.
Together with the day’s biggest news, UNDAS 2013 also features Serbisyong Totoo booths in two of the country’s biggest cemeteries – Manila North Cemetery and Manila South Cemetery – from Thursday, October 31, to Friday, November 1.
Spearheaded by Unang Hirit, the Serbisyong Totoo booths will provide the following for free: water refill, emergency calls, cell phone charging and name tags for the kids in case they get lost. Philippine Red Cross personnel will also be at the Serbisyong Totoo booths to administer first aid. The booths at the North and South Cemeteries will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. on October 31 and November 1. The Serbisyong Totoo booths will also be featured on GMA's prime time newscast 24 Oras.
Unang Hirit will also continue its plastic bottle campaign dubbed as “Palit-Bote". In exchange for five empty plastic bottles, one will get a special gift from Unang Hirit. The Palit-Bote campaign aims to help reduce the amount of garbage in cemeteries and help promote recycling. The collected bottles will go to recycling organizations.
GMA News TV’s ultimate budget travel show Biyahe ni Drew, meanwhile, will hold its annual Bantay Biyahe on October 31 at Shell Balagtas, Bulacan and on November 3 at Shell SLEX from 5pm to 10 pm. The team will provide free blood pressure check up, free snacks, and other giveaways for travelers.
UNDAS 2013 news updates will also be available on radio via the Network’s flagship AM radio station DZBB and online via www.gmanews.tv.(30)
