Lauren talks about her first bed scene with Richard Gutierrez in 'Overtime'

Lauren Young has been in the industry for years, but according to the actress, it was her first time to shoot a bed scene. What did Richard Gutierrez say when he learned that he was the first actor to do an intimate scene with Lauren in Overtime?

“It’s an honor,” Richard jested.

Lauren divulged how they were able to manage the intimate scene without feeling agitated.

“It was very professional. Like ‘pag kinakailangan gawin, gagawin namin. But then there were some scenes naman na sa shot hindi naman masyado kita, silhouette lang so dadayain. As much as possible, kung kailangang totoo, okay naman,” she shared.

Because of the provoking questions of the press, Richard felt a bit uncomfortable and quipped, “Para namang pinapalabas rito na napaka-expert ko sa ganoong klaseng bagay. Nahirapan rin naman ako. Kinailangan ko rin ng guidance kay direk.”

For Richard, it’s all about being at ease with your co-actor in order to make an intimate scene work. “Sa mga sensual scenes na ganyan, I think ang pinakaimportante sa lahat ay komportable kayo sa isa't-isa. And I think kami ni Lauren, bago kami dumating sa eksenang yun, we did a lot of scenes together, and we're already comfortable with each other. Parang, kumbaga kilala na namin ang isa't-isa. So I think, that helped out with me and Lauren,” Richard disclosed.

Lauren shared how she got rid of the tension while filming with Richard. “I told him naman na it's my first time to do such a scene like that. I think 'pag teleserye kasi, naka-ilang beses na akong kissing scenes. With this kasi, it's more intimate. It was more challenging and more daring.”

She added, “I know na in the past, he has done this before. So I told him if he can guide me, he could tell me what I should do and shouldn't do just so we could make the scene work.”

The guidance that Richard and Lauren have for each other didn't solely happen in the intimate scene. The two disclosed that they supported each other through the entire movie.

“We would always talk about each and every scene, how we will do it, how we will make it better para the whole movie would end up being good. It was just communication throughout the whole movie talaga,” Lauren concluded.
