Two of the industry’s more established and revered stars for a good number of reasons. Both have proven their worth as bankable stars, winning accolades from various award-giving bodies and setting box-office records via their two previous outings as a team: Dahil May Isang Ikaw and Pangako... Ikaw Lang, both under Viva Films.
The country’s Ultimate Hearthrob and Reigning Rom-Com Queen have indeed done a lot of things in their personal and professional lives.
Aga, for instance, has reinvented himself as an effective host in TV5’s Pinoy Explorer and is well on his way to carving a new career path in politics as he seeks a congressional seat in the 4th district of CamSur in the 2013 elections.
Regine, for her part, is about to celebrate her 25th year in the business with a “Silver” concert at the Mall of Asia Arena come November even as she, off-cam, joggles between her roles as singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid’s wife and doting mom to first-born Nate.
Certainly, these two roles models have scored big successes on and off screen and they continue to do more.
They join forces a new to weave love and magic spell on the big screen via their latest starrer, Viva Films and GMA Films’ romance-comedy, Of All the Things, earmarked for a September 26 release.
The movie, which reunites Aga and Regine with Dahil... and Pangako director Bb. Joyce Bernal and scriptwriter Mel del Rosario, casts them as Umboy and Berns, an odd pair who find love and romance in the midst of doing a lot of things for themselves.
Umboy is a bar flunker who makes both ends meet by holding office as a notary public. His failure to pass the bar exam makes him lose his drive and, thus, make short-term plans.
Berns, on the other hand, is a social climbing class-A fixer, who stops at nothing to get her way around politicians and other influential people.
Losers through they may be, Umboy and Berns ultimately find strength, love, acceptance and victory in each others’ arms.
Lending able support to Aga and Regine in Of All The Things are comedian John “Sweet” Lapus, Tommy Abuel, Pinky Marquez, Gina Pareno, Ariel Ureta, Mark Bautista, Nikki Bacolod and Jay Perillo, among others.
Rediscover how true love triumphs over frustrations in this year’s biggest and most anticipated date movie, Of All the Things, showing on September 26 from Viva Films and GMA Films.
