EXCLUSIVE: Ms. Gloria Romero stars in the newest GMA-7 project, 'Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko'
She may be old, but Gloria Romero's heart and soul are strong! And at 83, the FAMAS awardee is in no mood to retire anytime soon.
The veteran actress is all set to star in the Kapuso Network's upcoming show entitled Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko. A weekly fantasy series, the show is a breath of fresh air from the usual heavy drama that we see on TV. It is also an opportunity for children and their parents to bond.
GMA Network.com sat down with Ms. Gloria for an exclusive one-on-one where she shared more details about her latest project.
"Nung una, sabi ko 'Kaya ko pa ba ito?'. You know, because I’m not any younger," reveals Ms. Gloria.
"Tapos sabi nila, 'It’s light lang naman, Tita. At saka hindi naman very heavy.' Which is good because ang drama talaga ang exhausting. Wala kang gagawin the whole day kundi umiyak. At least dito tumatawa naman kami for a change."
Ms. Gloria's initial reservation was replaced with excitement because of the nature of the project. “It’s been a long time bago ako nakagawa ng isa pang ganito kaya nga nagulat ako.”
Joining Ms. Gloria in Daig Ka Ng Lola Ko is tween star Jillian Ward with child stars David Remo, Chlaui Malayao, and Julius Miguel.
“I’m very lucky actually na sa edad kong ito na 83 years old mayroon pa akong kasamang bulilit. It makes you look younger and feel younger,” says Ms. Gloria who admits that she draws energy from the young cast members.
It can be recalled that Gloria did several notable projects with GMA-7 like Niño, Juan Happy Love Story, The Rich Man’s Daughter, and The Half Sisters. She is also currently part of the high-rating kilig-serye Meant To Be.
