Maricris Garcia lauds Aicelle Santos's courage to fulfill dreams
Maricris Garcia admitted to idolize her fellow Kapuso singer and one of her closest friends Aicelle Santos.
The latter self-produced her EP Liwanag and hurdled through all the obstacles that went along with the grand task.
“Si Aicelle kasi, sobrang hanga ako dun kasi talgang pinush niya eh. Walang pumigil sa kanya. [Her mindset was] ‘kahit walang tumulong sa ‘kin, gagawin ko ‘to, iupush ko ‘to.’ Ganun kasi siya,” Maricris said.
According to the 28-year-old singer, she is not as courageous as her long-time friend. She, however, is trying to take things in stride.
“Ako, medyo hindi ganun kalakas yung loob ko kaya hindi pa. Pero sana, bilang ngayon, nakikita kong maraming taong puwedeng tumulong, maraming taong puwede kong lapitan, sana ma-push [ang mga plano],” she added.
Maricris is successful in her own right – she is engaged to boyfriend TJ Cruz and she continues to share her gift of musicality to others. She recently took the Playlist stage to sing a different arrangement of her song Ako Na Lang Ang Bibitaw.
She is also in the middle of planning for a compilation album of various theme songs she has performed for GMA.
“Ito, ngayon, we have plans of making an album. Kino-compile namin yung ibang theme songs na ginawa ko and meron din kaming ginagawang bago. Sana by this year, matapos,” she shared.
