It's official!
After months of anticipation of whether the most regal of all beauty pageants, Miss Universe will happen in the Philippines, the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach confirms it today, November 3.
In an Instagram video, the Filipina beauty confirmed that Miss Universe 2017 pageant will be staged in her home country. She said, “Mabuhay! I’m so excited to share with you all that the Miss Universe competition is indeed happening in the Philippines, and I can’t wait to show you all my beautiful country.”

Mercator Artist and Model Management President Jonas Gaffud backed up the beauty queen’s dream of hosting the pageant in the country, “We are announcing that the 65th edition of Miss Universe will be in the Philippines on January 12 to 30, 2017.”
With the help of Pia’s management arm in her home country, they were able to convince the government as well as the Miss Universe Organization to hold the prestigious pageant here.

Gaffud posted on Facebook, “I started working on this in February, and for five months, I have been quietly putting everyone together on the table to make this dream of Pia and mine come true.”
