Stars flocked to the premiere night of the AlDub romantic flick, 'Imagine You & Me'

Legions of fans of the Eat Bulaga phenomenal loveteam Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards trooped down to SM Megamall Cinema 9 and 10 last night, July 12, for the grand premiere night of their highly-anticipated movie, ‘Imagine You & Me’ (IYAM).

The premiere night was a star-studded affair with several dabarkads from Eat Bulaga gracing the event to show support for the AlDub power couple.

Some of those who were spotted were Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo who came as their Kalye-serye characters, Lola Nidora and Lola Tinidora.

In addition, Vic Sotto, Tito Sotto, Pauleen Luna, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Senior Vice President for Creatives and Operations of Television And Production Exponents Philippines Inc. (TAPE, Inc.) Ms. Jenny Ferre, and AlDub's family and close friends were also in full force.

GMA Network executives were also in attendance like GMA Films president Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Entertainment TV Senior Vice President Lilybeth Rasonable, Vice President for Entertainment Marivin Arayata, GMA Vice President for Drama Redgie Magno, and GMA Vice President for Program Management Joey Abacan.

IYAM director Michael “Mike” Tuviera and the cast were in high spirits seeing the thousands of people who came to see the grand premiere. 

Some of the stars of movie spotted at the event were Jasmine Curtis, Irma Adlawan, Jerald Napoles, Kakai Bautista, and Yayo Aguila.

Loud cheers erupted when Alden and Maine arrived at the venue and walked the red carpet. Maine was beautiful wearing a gorgeous pink silk gown, while Alden looked dashing in his black and white tuxedo.

Before the start of the movie premiere, the two addressed the crowd to personally thank their adoring fans for their support.

Alden said, “Maraming salamat po and sabay-sabay po tayo mag-enjoy sa pelikula….Thank you so much po. Ito po ‘yung maliit naming regalo ni Menggay para sa inyo sa isang taon pong pag-suporta [sa amin]. Sana po [ay] mag-enjoy kayong lahat.”

“Maraming-maraming salamat po paulit-ulit sa walang sawang niyo pong suporta sa amin ni Alden and talagang naghirap po kami para sa movie na ito. Sana po magustuhan niyo po,” Maine added.

DongYan supports AlDub

The Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera also came to the IYAM premiere night to show support for their fellow Kapusos, Maine and Alden.

Dingdong and Marian are set to appear in the highly-anticipated telefantasya requel of Encantadia that will air its pilot episode on July 18.

In an interview, Marian congratulated Aldub and the whole team behind the movie of ‘Imagine You & Me.’

“Congrats sa kanila, siyempre sa lahat ng bumubuo ng pelikula na ito especially kay Direk Mike [Tuviera]. Congratulations and sobrang excited na kaming mapanood ‘yung movie nila.”

Meanwhile, Dingdong Dantes was excited to experience the “kilig-fest” by watching IYAM.

“Hindi [lang] makaka-imagine kundi mapapanood na talaga nila kung ano ‘yung [nararamdaman] nung dalawa 'di ba? Very proud kami sa kanila. Congrats sa lahat.”
