Direk Brillante Mendoza urges Filipinos to watch the eye-opening film, 'Ma' Rosa'
There are many reasons why you should watch 'Ma' Rosa' where Jaclyn Jose won as Best Actress in the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.
Award-winning director Brillante Mendoza thanked moviegoers who supported his independent film Ma’ Rosa which is an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival 2016 since it opened in the Philippines last July 6.

He posted on Facebook, “I would like to personally thank everyone who watched our film Ma' Rosa. We are grateful [with] your support and positive reviews.”
Four days after its premiere, the 2009 Cannes Film Festival Best Director urged Filipinos to watch the 2-hour film on drugs, crime, and corruption.
“We are on a brink of being pulled out in some cinemas due to the lack of audience,” he added.
Ma’ Rosa lead star Jaclyn Jose who won as Best Actress at the prestigious film festival strongly encourages her fellow countrymen to watch the film for its eye-opening subject.
