The multi-awarded comedian renews his contract with GMA-7 this Wednesday afternoon (March 16).
Present in the contract signing are GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Senior Vice President for Entertainment TV Lilybeth Rasonable, Bitoy and his wife/manager Mrs. Carol Bunagan.
Michael V is ecstatic to remain with his home network which he credits for giving him the opportunity to excel in his craft.
He said, “GMA kasi nagbigay talaga sa akin ng pinakamagandang break I would say. So, hindi mawawala ‘yung loyalty ko talaga. Parang ano na 'to eh more than work ‘yung relationship. Parang beyond friendship na nga.”
In addition, Bitoy stresses that he doesn’t have any reason to switch to another network because he is a proud Kapuso for more than 20 years.
“The way that I am being treated here na ang hirap mang sabihin pero beyond pamilya, Kapuso talaga. Hindi mo maisasantabi ‘yung ganung klaseng treatment.”
Atty. Gozon’s showbiz idol
GMA Chairman and CEO Atty. Gozon is elated that the comedian decided to renew his contract with GMA. Moreover, the Kapuso executive is simply impressed with Michael V because he is one talented individual.
Aside from being an actor, he is a host, singer, writer, and creative director.
Atty. Gozon said, “I am more proud that he is with us. Ang hindi n'yo alam si Michael eh hindi lamang talent na nagpe-perform in front of the camera. Malaki ang kanyang nako-contribute sa paggawa ng mga shows niya. So, he is not only a comedian, he is also a director, a writer. But the most important thing, as far as I am concerned, Michael is a very very decent artist. Wala kang masasabi diyan.”
Mr. Gozon added that he is a great fan of Bitoy and he regularly watches all the shows of the Kapuso star.
“Isa siya sa mga talagang hinahangaan kong comedian, pinapanood ko ‘yung mga shows niya, Bubble Gang, ang tagal na niyang Bubble Gang.”
For his part, Mr. Duavit describes Bitoy as a unique talent who stands out from his contemporaries.
“Hindi lamang haligi, hindi lamang kasamahan, kung hindi isang kinahahangaan at tinitingala na kasamahan natin na Kapuso. So, we are ecstatic, very very happy. Bitoy stands out as being unique in his generation, so whether it’s the quality of his performances, what he writes, talagang hindi lamang bukod tangi o nangingibabaw, but walang katumabas,”
