After successfully bagging the title of FIBA U-18 Slam Dunk contest champion for two consecutive years, Kapuso star Kobe Paras immediately visited his home network when he returned to the Philippines.
The Kapuso network welcomed Kobe through a homecoming celebration which was held at GMA Network Center Building on June 11.
GMA Executives including Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., CFO Felipe S. Yalong awarded the basketball star a plaque of recognition for his latest achievement.
"I'm very proud to welcome you to your home station, the Kapuso station. Congratulations and I hope you continue to be a good son, a good person, and a good basketball player. At baka sakaling magkaroon tayo ng 100 percent Pilipino na MVP sa NBA," said Gozon.
Kobe really felt the warm welcome of his Kapuso supporters.
"Thank you po sa lahat dito. It's really an honor. I feel so loved and I would say thank you. I just appreciate the fact that you guys did this for me and I'm really proud to be a Kapuso because this really means a lot. And no matter what happens, I'm happy na mayroon din akong pamilya rito so thank you po," he said.
Kobe said his dad, PBA legend Benjie Paras, played a big role in his triumph. "They asked me talaga who my dad was because they said they saw videos of my dad there. I just told them na I really got my ability from him," shared Kobe.
