Atasha Muhlach actually believed her mom Charlene Gonzales was a mermaid
Now that she has officially joined showbiz, it is already possible for Atasha Muhlach to do a remake of her mom Charlene Gonzales's popular movie Dyesebel.
“I would really love to do Dyesebel if I have a chance because that's something I saw growing up,” said the 22-year-old celebrity during her first press conference after signing a contract with Viva Artist Agency recently.
She also mentioned to the entertainment media, “I used to think that my mom was a mermaid and as a kid, I thought eventually I'd turn into one. To be able to experience a role like that, it's truly an honor.”
Later at the presscon, Atasha was asked what made her believe that her Mommy Charlene was a real mermaid.
She answered, “When I was younger, I used to think that my mom was a mermaid because I saw photos of my mom and I saw her with a tail. Then, they would go and say, 'Oh, look, your mom is a mermaid.' And my dad [Aga Muhlach] would say, 'Yeah, it's true. It's true.'
“So, whenever we would go wakeboarding in Taal Lake, I would really swim thinking that at any point I would transform into a mermaid. Then, of course, the older I got, the realization gets… it's a movie and it's not real.”
Aside from acting, Atasha is also set to record her first single. According to her, the song will be in Filipino, “It's gonna be a very happy song.”
As for the plans on her showbiz career, Atasha said, “I personally would really want to try everything. I would like to sings, I would like to dance, perform, and I would like to act. So, I wouldn't wanna close my doors on anything. As of now, I'm just taking one step at a time.

Swimmer
Speaking of doing a remake of Dyesebel, Atasha Muhlach won't need any swimming training anymore as she already competed as a swimmer. “I used to swim in high school, I used to compete. I actually spent my first year during the lockdown on the beach. So, I really love to swim.”
Water sports
Aside from swimming, Atasha also does wakeboarding, jetski, parasailing, and snorkeling. “I really love watersports,” she said.
Athletic
Atasha Muhlach is very athletic, thanks to her parents who taught her different kinds of sports. She shared, “We did it as a family--basketball, golf, badminton. That's why we're all very athletic.
Artsy
Aside from being a performer, Atasha is also very much interested in arts. In fact, she has a collection of her own paintings. “I give all of my paintings to my grandma. I've never sold any of my paintings and they've always just been at home.” She also hopes to put up an exhibit someday.
Potential beauty queen
Even before she joined showbiz, many think that Atasha Muhlach has a potential to become a beauty queen, just like her mom, Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzales. Whenever she gets this kind of compliment, the young lady said, “It's very flattering because I find my mom very beautiful. I think she's very beautiful inside and out.”
